What is the MMP Summer Music Intensive?

The Summer Music Intensive (SMI) inspires young musicians to explore their passion for artistry and music through 10 days of personalized & curated 1-on-1 lessons, educational group classes, and performance opportunities! After honing their skills throughout the week with top-notch instructors, our Marigolds will be able to show off their talents in our Final Showcase Concert! This year, we will be live-streaming a concert being held on the Walter Hall stage in the Faculty of Music, University of Toronto on August 17th!

Our student-centered programming makes us unique! We hire a diverse pool of emerging and industry professional faculty after we meet our successful SMI applicants – this ensures the individual wants and needs of each participant are met! Stay tuned to see our current and past SMI Faculty!

Who is it for?

The SMI is for singers, pianists, and songwriters aged 14-18.  Priority is given to Black & Indigenous youth and those with financial barriers. However, MMP is dedicated to equity, diversity, and inclusivity in all of our programming, and we encourage EVERYONE to apply – regardless of race, gender, sexuality, or religion.
